Description of Project

Process Safety Management (PSM) looks at systems in order to maintain the process safety for long term. A gap analysis for the implementation of a PSM system is performed to analyze and review the current plant performance with respect to the fourteen elements of PSM that are mentioned in the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 29 CFR 1910.119 and discussed the facility’s safety culture with management and staff. Even though PSM is currently available and is being practiced, a system needs to be in place in order to ensure that the current practices are maintained and kept up to date. PSM Gap Analysis is for finding out existing gaps in Process Safety Management.

PSM gap analysis is done by a team consisting of safety consultant from Mary Kay O’Conner Process Safety Centre and Engineers from ERI Safety and Loss Prevention Centre. The completion of this project includes: (i) Opening presentation (ii) Documentation review, (iii) Field inspection, (iv) Interviews, (v) Closing presentation (vi) Evaluation of Gap & Complete report.
